Indigo Little has now been open for seven months and in that time we have been warmly welcomed into a great community of people in the Nightingale Triangle. Throughout the handover period we received a great deal support from everyone. So we decided that we wanted to pay it back to the community by doing our part as a new business.
We felt like the best way to do this would be to organise visits to local schools and perform workshops with children. With our Dental Hygienist, Laura Bailey, we constructed a fun and interactive workshop which aims to teach kids about the importance of Oral Hygiene and Good Diet. Preventative dental care is at the heart of all treatment at Indigo Little and what we aim to achieve in offering our time and expertise to educate children. An early education about the significance of lifelong dental care could be key in preventing future need for treatment.
Last month we successfully ran our first workshop at the Nightingale Montessori Nursery School. Laura and I visited the local school and ran a 30 minute class with the children. Laura began by introducing us and what we both do at Indigo Little. She then spoke about her work as a Hygienist and why its important for everyone to visit the Dentist. A few questions got the kids warmed up as they all told us about their tooth brushing habits at home, before we continued with activities designed to instruct on good diet and the best way to maintain oral health. Finally, she finished the workshop by singing her own, custom made tooth brushing song that each child would later take home on a CD.
It was a morning full of fun activities and we thoroughly enjoyed demonstrating and interacting with the children in a way that we hope will be remembered even after the school day is over.At the end of the workshop, the kids got to take home a little goody bag full of Indigo Little treats, including stickers, sugar-free sweets, and a guide to good dental care.
We now have more than six workshops booked in before we close for Christmas and we can’t wait to get out there and meet more of the wonderful kids and families of our community.
If you would like for us to come and visit your school, please get in touch by e-mailing us at reception@indigolittle.com

Dr. Little keeps abreast of new developments in restorative dentistry through post-graduate training.
Dr. Little is also an experienced Facial Aesthetistician, including Botulinum toxins (such as Botox) and Dermafillers. She appreciates how simple and subtle changes to smooth and relax muscles can “freshen” a face, to look younger.
In her personal time, she loves to cook, read, run, practice yoga and pilates, play a bad game of tennis and am now learning to play golf. She loves Art and Theatre and support the Tate Modern. She also enjoys writing and has a book in the works.
