If you have high blood pressure, it’s important to prevent gum disease:
– Research has shown that people with gum disease don’t respond as well to blood pressure medication as those without.
– People with high blood pressure should ensure they visit their dentist regularly as untreated high blood pressure can result in heart attacks, kidney disease and strokes.
– Good oral health is as important as other lifestyle changes.
– Signs of gum disease include bleeding when brushing and flossing your teeth.
“Dental health professionals should keep in mind that oral health is “indispensable” to overall health.”
